Mathieu Lamboley
Biography
Mathieu Lamboley is a French pianist and film composer known for his work in cinema and television. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he received five first prizes in areas including piano, orchestration, harmony, and counterpoint.
Lamboley wrote his first film score at the age of 25 and won the Grand Prix for Best Sound Creation at the Aubagne International Film Festival. His musical influences include composers such as Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky, and John Williams.
He has composed music for numerous French films, including The Return of the Hero (2018), Minuscule 2: Mandibles from Far Away (2019), The Speech (2020), Between Two Worlds (2021), The Accusation (2021), and Jack Mimoun & the Secrets of Val Verde (2022). His score for Minuscule 2 was nominated for several international awards.
Lamboley achieved international recognition for composing the music for Netflix's Lupin (2021–2023). His score blends classical orchestration with modern hip-hop rhythms, reflecting the show's connection between the traditional world of Arsène Lupin and its contemporary setting.
His later credits include the animated series Tobie Lolness, Netflix's Cassandra (2025), and the 2026 film L'Affaire Bojarski. He is also composing the upcoming fourth part of Lupin.
