Matteo Scattaretico
Biography
Matteo Scattaretico, born on March 31, 2000, in Rome, Italy, is an Italian actor and musician. He grew up in Rome and developed a passion for both acting and competitive swimming from an early age. At just 11, he became a professional swimmer and later joined the Aurelia Nuoto swimming team.
At the age of 15, Scattaretico began studying acting under Tiziana Sensi. In 2016, he performed in school theatre projects at the Sant'Orsola Institute, making his stage debut as Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He later appeared in Declinazioni d'amore, also directed by Sensi.
After graduating from Seneca High School in Rome in 2018, he briefly studied Economics and Management at Roma Tre University before deciding to dedicate himself fully to acting. He also shared his passion for theatre by leading a free acting course for teenagers in Valle Aurelia.
Scattaretico made his television debut as Lorenzo in the Rai series Mental (2019), directed by Michele Vannucci. He subsequently appeared in short films including L'ombra nuvolosa, Figli della lupa, and Caracalla (2021).
His breakthrough came with Prisma (2022–2024), the coming-of-age series directed by Ludovico Bessegato. The role allowed him to combine several of his interests, particularly acting, swimming, and music.
Alongside acting, Scattaretico has been producing music since 2019. He wrote, sang, and produced his first single, “Laooconte,” demonstrating his creative interests beyond the screen.
