Biography

Meccartin is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter known for his work in Malayalam cinema. He is best known for his successful collaboration with Rafi as the filmmaking duo Rafi–Meccartin. Their films are particularly noted for comedy, family entertainment, and engaging commercial storytelling.

Career

Meccartin began his career in Malayalam cinema alongside Rafi. The duo made their directorial debut with Puthukkottayile Puthumanavalan (1995), starring Jayaram and Prem Kumar. The film became a popular comedy and established them as promising filmmakers.

They followed it with Punjabi House (1998), starring Dileep, Harisree Ashokan and Cochin Haneefa. The film became one of the notable comedy films of Malayalam cinema and developed a strong following over the years.

Their next major success was Thenkasipattanam (2000), featuring Suresh Gopi, Lal, Dileep, Samyuktha Varma, Kavya Madhavan and Geetu Mohandas. The film was a major commercial success and further strengthened the duo's reputation.
