Megan Ellison is an American film producer and entrepreneur known for her bold vision and commitment to supporting distinctive, auteur-driven cinema. Born Margaret Elizabeth Ellison on January 31, 1986, in Santa Clara County, California, she is the daughter of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and Barbara Boothe Ellison. Despite her connection to one of the most prominent figures in the tech industry, Megan forged her own path in Hollywood, becoming one of the most influential producers of her generation.
Ellison studied at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where she developed her passion for filmmaking and storytelling. In 2011, she founded Annapurna Pictures, a production company dedicated to creating high-quality, innovative films that balance artistic integrity with commercial appeal.
Under her leadership, Annapurna Pictures quickly became a powerhouse in independent cinema.
