Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a prominent Bangladeshi international cricketer, celebrated for his prowess as a bowling all-rounder. Born on October 25, 1997, in Khulna, Bangladesh, he bats right-handed and delivers right-arm off-break bowling. Since his international debut in 2016, Mehidy has been a cornerstone of Bangladesh's cricketing endeavors across all formats.

Early Life and Rise to Prominence

Mehidy's cricketing journey commenced at the tender age of eight in Khulna. His talent was soon recognized by former Bangladeshi off-spinner Sheikh Salahuddin, who mentored him in off-spin bowling. Demonstrating leadership and skill, Mehidy captained Bangladesh's Under-19 team in the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, steering them to their inaugural semi-final appearance. His stellar performance, amassing 242 runs and claiming 12 wickets, earned him the 'Player of the Tournament' accolade.

International Career

 Test Cricket

Mehidy made a sensational Test debut against England on October 20, 2016, in Chattogram, securing a five-wicket haul in his first innings. He concluded the series with 19 wickets, earning the 'Player of the Series' title—a first for a Bangladeshi debutant. Notably, on February 4, 2021, he scored his maiden Test century, a resilient 103 against the West Indies. By April 2025, Mehidy had achieved the remarkable feat of 200 Test wickets and over 2,000 runs, becoming the fastest Bangladeshi to reach this double in just 53 matches.

One Day Internationals (ODIs)

Debuting in ODIs on March 25, 2017, against Sri Lanka, Mehidy quickly established himself as a reliable all-rounder. He has participated in over 100 ODIs, amassing more than 1,600 runs and taking over 110 wickets. A highlight of his ODI career came on December 7, 2022, when he scored an unbeaten 100 against India, becoming only the second player batting at number eight to achieve an ODI century.

T20 Internationals
