Mehmet Günsür
Biography
Mehmet Günsür was born on 8 May 1975 in Istanbul, Turkey. He is a Turkish actor, model, and producer who began appearing in television commercials at the age of seven. At 14, he acted in the television series Geçmiş Bahar Mimozaları. After graduating from the Italian High School in Istanbul, he studied communications at Marmara University and graduated with honors.
Günsür gained international recognition with Ferzan Özpetek’s Hamam (The Turkish Bath, 1997), a role that encouraged him to pursue acting professionally. He subsequently appeared in Turkish and Italian productions, including O Şimdi Asker, Anlat İstanbul, Don't Move, and Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever.
He became particularly popular for portraying Prince Mustafa in the historical drama The Magnificent Century (Muhteşem Yüzyıl). His other notable television credits include Bıçak Sırtı, Fi, and Netflix's The Gift (Atiye), in which he played Erhan.
His later work includes Arayış, Ashes, Annem Ankara, Atatürk 1881-1919, and Envy (Kıskanmak). Alongside acting, Günsür has also worked as a producer, including on the independent web series Kanaga.
