Melika Foroutan (born September 6, 1976, in Tehran, Iran) is a German-Iranian actress known for her versatile performances in film, television, and theater. Her work spans critically acclaimed roles in both German and international productions.

 

Early Life and Education

Melika was born in Tehran and grew up in a multicultural environment. She began her academic journey studying Philosophy, English, and History at the University of Cologne from 1995 to 1998. Following her passion for acting, she enrolled at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin, graduating in 2002.

 

Career Highlights

Theater Beginnings: After her studies, she joined the Schauspielhaus Leipzig, where she performed for three years, honing her craft on stage.

 

Breakthrough Roles:

  • In 2006, Melika gained attention for her role in the drama Wut (Anger).
  • She earned widespread acclaim as police officer Silvia Henke in the TV series KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst noted for its realistic and intense storytelling.

Award Recognition: In 2015, she won the Best Actress award at the Hessischer Filmpreis for her compelling performance in Louise Boni, a role that showcased her depth and range.
