Michael Richards (born July 24, 1949, in Culver City, California, USA) is an American actor and comedian best known for portraying Cosmo Kramer in the popular television sitcom Seinfeld (1989–1998). His energetic physical comedy and distinctive performance earned him three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and gained early television recognition through Fridays (1980–1982). His other notable appearances include UHF (1989), Problem Child (1990), Coneheads (1993), The Michael Richards Show (2000), and Curb Your Enthusiasm. He remains widely recognised for his memorable contribution to Seinfeld.
