Biography
Mohini, born Maheswari, is an Indian actress who worked mainly in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu cinema during the 1990s and early 2000s.
She made her film debut with the Tamil movie Eera Veyil (1990) and went on to become a popular leading actress in South Indian films. She gained particular recognition through Malayalam cinema, where she appeared opposite prominent actors including Mammootty, Mohanlal and Jayaram.
Some of her notable Malayalam films include Ghazal (1993), Parinayam (1994), Kudumba Visesham (1994), Mannar Mathai Speaking (1995), Prajapathi (2006) and Pattabhishekam (1999). She also appeared in several successful Tamil films during the 1990s.
Mohini was known for portraying romantic leads as well as family-oriented characters. Her performances, particularly in Malayalam films, helped establish her as one of the recognizable actresses of the 1990s South Indian film industry.
After taking a break from acting, she later made occasional appearances in television and films. She is remembered especially for her work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema during the 1990s.
