Biography
Moushumi Chatterjee (born 26 April 1948) is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. With a career spanning more than five decades, she has earned acclaim for portraying a wide range of roles, from romantic heroines to strong character parts.
Born as Indira Chattopadhyay in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, Moushumi made her acting debut in the Bengali film Balika Badhu. She entered Hindi cinema with the successful remake of the same title, Balika Badhu, which established her as one of Bollywood's leading actresses of the 1970s.
Throughout her career, she appeared in numerous successful films, including Anuraag, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan, Benaam, Angoor, Piku, and Goynar Baksho. She worked alongside many of Indian cinema's biggest stars, including Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Mehra, Sanjeev Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty.
