Mrighdeep Lamba
Biography
An alumnus of the Asian Academy of Film & TV (AAFT), Mrigdeep Singh Lamba made his directorial debut in 2011 with the movie Teen Thay Bhai. Despite having a promising star cast of Om Puri, Shreyas Talpade, and Deepak Dobriyal the movie failed at the box office.
In 2013, he wrote and directed the comedy film Fukrey, which became a sleeper hit and received positive criticism and commercial reviews. Mrigdeep, along with co-writer Vipul Vig, was nominated for the Screen Awards for Best Screenplay.
In 2017, he directed the movie sequel, titled Fukrey Returns. In 2021, he produced the comedy-horror film Roohi, which stars Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.
