Biography

Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani is a huge business tycoon from India, who is currently the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries - the largest private sector enterprise in the country. Reliance is also one of the largest private-sector conglomerates in the world.

Mukesh owns a 48 percent stake in the company. According to Forbes, the net worth of his oil and gas giant company is 51 billion dollars (revenue).

In 2010, Mukesh was named among the most powerful people in the world by Forbes in its list of "68 people who matter most". As of 2016, he held the title of India's richest person on the magazine's list for a decade.

His house in Mumbai is known as Antila and has a net worth of 1 billion dollars. The abode is a 27-story building and has facilities like a health club, dance studio, ballroom, guestrooms, numerous lounges, a 50-seat screening room, an elevated garden, three helipads, and underground parking for 160 vehicles.

Mukesh initiated Reliance's backward integration journey from textiles into polyester fibers and further into petrochemicals, petroleum refining, and going upstream into oil and gas exploration and production.

 

 He set up Reliance Infocomm Limited, one of the largest and most complex information and communications technology initiatives in the world. He directed and led the creation of the world's largest grassroots petroleum refinery at Jamnagar in Gujarat.
