He made his acting debut in Navaniat Singh's Taur Mittran Di (2012) and gained recognition for his performances in films like Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 (2013) and Ishq Garaari (2013).
In 2017, Mukesh ventured into direction with his debut film Thug Life. The movie, which blends humor with an engaging storyline, features an ensemble cast including Harish Verma, Ihana Dhillon, Rajiv Thakur, and Jass Bajwa.
