Biography

Murray Bartlett, born on March 20, 1971, is an Australian actor who has garnered significant recognition for his work in television.   

 

 

Bartlett began his acting career in Australia, appearing in series like "Home and Away" and "Neighbours." In 2000, he relocated to the United States. His early work in the U.S. included a guest role in "Sex and the City." He gained further attention for his role as Dominic "Dom" Basaluzzo in the HBO comedy-drama series "Looking" (2014-2015) and the subsequent film "Looking: The Movie" (2016). He also appeared in the Netflix revival of "Tales of the City" (2019).   

 

 

His career reached a new level of acclaim with his portrayal of Armond, the complex resort manager in the first season of the HBO dark comedy series "The White Lotus" (2021). For this role, Bartlett won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

 

 

He continued to receive praise for his role as Nick De Noia in the Hulu miniseries "Welcome to Chippendales" (2022), earning another Primetime Emmy Award nomination. In 2023, his guest appearance as Frank in "The Last of Us" also garnered him Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, winning an Online Film & Television Association Award for the latter.   

 

 

Bartlett's other television credits include "Farscape," "All My Children," "Flight of the Conchords," "Damages," "The Good Wife," "Iron Fist," "Physical," and "Nine Perfect Strangers." He has also appeared in films such as "Needle," "August," and "The Stand In."
