Biography
MyAnna Buring is a Swedish-born British actress known for her work in film, television, and theatre. She was born on September 22, 1979, in Sundsvall, Sweden, and grew up in the Middle East before moving to Britain at the age of 16. She graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2004.
Early Career
Buring began her professional acting career in British television, appearing in productions such as Murder Prevention, Casualty, The Bill, and Midsomer Murders. She also became involved with the MahWaff Theatre Company as an associate director.
Film Career
Buring gained early recognition for her performance as Sam in the horror film The Descent (2005). She later reprised the role in The Descent Part 2 (2009). Her other film credits include Doomsday (2008), Freakdog (2008), Lesbian Vampire Killers (2009), and Kill List (2011).
She achieved international recognition after portraying Tanya, a member of the Denali vampire coven, in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011) and Part 2 (2012).
Television Career
Buring has appeared in several prominent British and international television productions. Her credits include Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, Ripper Street, The Responder, and The Witcher, in which she played the sorceress Tissaia de Vries.
She also appeared in the thriller 97 Minutes (2023), playing Kim alongside Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alec Baldwin.
