Nafisa Ali is a prominent Indian actress, activist, politician, and former beauty queen known for her elegance, courage, and contribution to Indian cinema and social causes. Modeling Career and Miss India Title

Nafisa Ali entered the Indian modeling scene in the 1970s, becoming one of the most sought-after models of her time. In 1976, she won the prestigious Femina Miss India title, a significant milestone that brought her national fame and recognition. Her stunning looks, graceful demeanor, and confident presence captivated audiences, making her a popular figure in the Indian fashion industry.

Following her Miss India win, she represented India at the Miss International pageant held in Tokyo, Japan, in 1976. Although she did not win the international title, her participation brought her widespread attention and further opportunities in modeling and cinema.

Nafisa Ali’s entry into Bollywood was marked by her debut in Junoon (1978), a critically acclaimed film directed by Shyam Benegal. Set in the aftermath of the 1857 Indian Rebellion, Junoon saw Nafisa playing the role of Ruth Labadoor, a British woman held captive by an Indian nobleman. 

The film's nuanced storytelling and the ensemble cast, including Shashi Kapoor, Jennifer Kendal, and Naseeruddin Shah, made it a classic of Indian cinema. Nafisa’s natural performance in the film was appreciated, establishing her as a promising actress.

She went on to act in various notable films over the years, including:

1. Major Saab (1998): She played the role of Priya Tendulkar’s mother, acting alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

In 2009, she briefly joined the Samajwadi Party but later returned to the Congress.
