Biography
Nadia Moidu, also known as Nadhiya, is an Indian actress who has worked predominantly in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. Born Zareena Moidu on 24 October 1966 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, she began her acting career in the 1980s and became one of the popular leading actresses of South Indian cinema.
Early Life and Career
Nadia made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu (1984), directed by Fazil. The film was a major success and established her as a promising young actress. She subsequently appeared in Malayalam films including Koodum Thedi, Kandu Kandarinju, Panchagni and Shyama.
She soon became popular in Tamil cinema as well. During the 1980s, she appeared in several successful Tamil films and became particularly known for her graceful screen presence and youthful performances.
Career in Tamil and Telugu Cinema
Nadia continued to work across South Indian languages, appearing in Tamil and Telugu productions alongside leading actors. Among her later notable Telugu films are Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Drushyam (2014) and A Aa (2016). Her performance in Attarintiki Daredi brought her renewed popularity with Telugu audiences.
For Drushyam, she played Geetha Prabhakar, a police officer, demonstrating her transition from youthful heroine roles to mature character parts.
Return to Malayalam Cinema
After taking a long break from acting, Nadia returned to Malayalam cinema with Doubles (2011), starring Mammootty. Her comeback marked a new phase in her career, with the actress increasingly taking on mature and supporting roles.
She later appeared in Malayalam films including Neerali (2018) and Bheeshma Parvam (2022). In Bheeshma Parvam, directed by Amal Neerad, she played Fathima Ali alongside Mammootty.

Nadia married Shirish Godbole in 1988. After marriage, she spent several years abroad before returning to India and continuing her acting career.
