Namgoong Min
Biography
Namgoong Min is a South Korean actor, born on March 12, 1978, in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in mechanical engineering before pursuing an entertainment career. He began working in television and film in the early 2000s and gradually established himself as one of South Korea's leading actors.
He gained major recognition for his performances in dramas such as Remember: War of the Son (2015), Beautiful Gong Shim (2016), Good Manager (2017), Doctor Prisoner (2019), and Hot Stove League (2019–2020). His performance in Hot Stove League earned him the Grand Prize (Daesang) at the 2020 SBS Drama Awards.
Namgoong Min continued his success with the action thriller The Veil (2021), for which he won another Daesang at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards. In One Dollar Lawyer (2022), he played the unconventional attorney Cheon Ji-hoon, who charges only 1,000 won for his legal services. The role earned him the Director's Award at the 2022 SBS Drama Awards.
He delivered another acclaimed performance as Lee Jang-hyun in the historical romance My Dearest (2023). His performance won him the 2023 MBC Drama Awards Daesang and the Best Actor award at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2024.
With roles spanning romance, comedy, legal drama, action, thriller, and historical fiction, Namgoong Min is recognized for his versatility and ability to portray both charismatic and emotionally complex characters.
