Biography

Nathaniel Goodman, ASC, is a highly accomplished Director of Photography, director, and writer based in Los Angeles, known for his versatile work across film and television. He holds an honors degree in critical theory from Brown University and pursued graduate studies at UCLA before entering the film industry.

 

 

Early Career and Cinematography
Goodman began his career as a 2nd Assistant Cameraman on John Frankenheimer’s 52 Pick-Up and steadily progressed through the camera department. He worked as 1st Assistant Camera on films like Soap Dish and Singles, and as a camera operator on productions including Godzilla, Bowfinger, and various television pilots and series, such as Heroes and Line of Fire. His experience culminated in serving as Director of Photography on all four seasons of Heroes.

 

 

Notable Television and Film Work
Nathaniel Goodman has shot numerous television pilots and series, including The 100, Torchwood: Miracle Day, Falling Skies, Swamp Thing, and Made For Love. His recent feature film work includes Small Town Wisconsin, which he also co-produced. In addition to cinematography, Goodman has directed television episodes for series such as Reign, Bitten, and Made For Love, and has written screenplays, including Formosa Betrayed.

 

 

Awards and Recognition
Goodman received the ICG Emerging Cinematographers Award in 2006 for the award-winning short The Fix. He has also been nominated for both an ASC Award for Timeless and an Emmy Award for Made For Love, highlighting his exceptional contributions to visual storytelling.
