Nicolas Kent "Nick" Stahl (born December 5, 1979) is an American actor who has cultivated a diverse career across film and television, transitioning from a celebrated child actor to a performer known for his nuanced and often darker roles in independent and genre cinema.

 

 

Early Life and Breakthrough

Born in Harlingen, Texas, Stahl's interest in acting began at a very young age. After seeing a children's play when he was four, he confidently declared his ambition to become an actor. He began performing in community theater and commercials, and by age ten, he landed his first professional acting role in the TV movie Stranger at My Door (1991).

 

His breakthrough came at age 13 when he was hand-selected by Mel Gibson to co-star in Gibson's directorial debut, The Man Without a Face (1993). Stahl's sensitive portrayal of Chuck Norstadt, a boy who befriends a disfigured man, earned him critical acclaim and a Young Artist Award nomination.
