Nigam Bomzan

Biography

From having no formal training in filmmaking to working with one of the most prolific filmmakers in the Hindi film industry, Nigam Bomzan`s story is certainly inspirational. After completing his schooling at the Vidya Vikash Academy, Darjeeling, Nigam traveled to Delhi and enrolled himself at Zakir Hussain College.

It was in 1999 that filmmaker Kabir Khan, who was impressed by Nigam`s photography at a Talent Hunt Contest in Delhi, took him as an assistant for a war documentary, which he was working on then.

In an interview, Nigam later stated that he was a confused kid and never realized what his passion was but he had a keen interest in still photography. He then went on to work as an assistant cameraman for movies such as Paap (2003), Rog (2005), and Kabul Express (2006).

In 2008, Nigam made his debut as a cinematographer in the Arjun Rampal starrer Fox. In subsequent years, he worked on movies such as Ada... A Way of Life (2010), Blood Money (2012), and Jism 2 (2012), Khamoshiyan (2015), and Great Grand Masti (2016).

His 2017 release includes the movie Poster Boys, the directorial debut of Shreyas Talpade. His 2018 release includes Paltan, directed by J. P. Dutta.
