N. R. Kittu was a distinguished Indian art director best known for his work in Tamil and Hindi cinema. He gained recognition for creating realistic and expressive set designs that enhanced storytelling and character depth in socially relevant and mainstream films alike.
He is particularly remembered for his contribution to landmark films such as Varumayin Niram Sigappu (1980), Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981), and the classic comedy Thillu Mullu (1981). His work in these films reflected a strong sense of authenticity, whether portraying middle-class environments, emotionally charged urban spaces, or lighthearted comedic settings.
