Oli Julian
Biography
Oli Julian is a British composer, producer, and arranger known for creating music for television and film. He is an RTS Award-winning and Ivor-nominated composer, with a career spanning comedy, drama, and feature films.
Julian is best known for composing the original score for Netflix's Sex Education (2019–2023), contributing music across all four seasons. He also composed the music for the comedy series Catastrophe (2015–2019) and the BBC miniseries Us (2020).
His other notable television credits include Motherland, Breeders, Back, Cuckoo, Plebs, The Duchess, In My Skin, The Full Monty, and Renegade Nell. His film work includes How to Build a Girl (2019), Greatest Days (2023), and The Twits.
Julian has also collaborated with musicians and songwriters including David Byrne, Nick Cave, and Ezra Furman. His distinctive scoring style has helped shape the playful, emotional, and contemporary atmosphere of several acclaimed British television productions.
