Park Ji Hoon

Biography

Park Ji-hoon (박지훈), born on May 29, 1999, in Masan, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, is a multifaceted talent who has successfully transitioned from a celebrated K-pop idol to a critically acclaimed actor.   

Park's journey in the entertainment industry began early. He debuted as a child actor, appearing in various musicals like Peter Pan and television dramas such as Jumong. However, he rose to national prominence in early 2017 as the runner-up in the second season of the survival competition show Produce 101. This led to his debut as a member of the highly successful boy group Wanna One.   

During Wanna One's active period (2017-2019), Park Ji-hoon gained immense popularity for his charming "wink" and his captivating stage presence as a singer and dancer. Following the group's disbandment, he embarked on a solo music career with the release of his debut EP, O'Clock, in 2019. He continued to release music, showcasing his growth as a solo artist.

Simultaneously, Park Ji-hoon returned to acting, steadily building a strong filmography. He garnered recognition for his leading roles in web dramas and television series, including:   

Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (2019): His first leading role after Wanna One, showcasing his potential in historical rom-com.   

Love Revolution (2020): A popular web drama where he played the cheerful male lead.   

At a Distance, Spring Is Green (2021): A college drama that earned him praise for his portrayal of a seemingly perfect but internally troubled student.   

However, it was his powerful and nuanced performance as Yeon Si-eun in the critically acclaimed web series Weak Hero Class 1 (2022) that marked a significant turning point in his acting career. His portrayal of the intelligent and physically vulnerable student who fights against school violence earned him widespread critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including Best New Actor awards at the Blue Dragon Series Awards and the Korea Drama Awards.   

In recent years, Park Ji-hoon has continued to impress with his acting in dramas like Love Song for Illusion (2024), where he took on dual roles, and the film Beautiful Audrey (2024), for which he won Best New Actor at the Seoul International Film Awards. He is also set to reprise his role in the highly anticipated second season of Weak Hero Class 1.   

Park Ji-hoon's successful transition from idol to respected actor demonstrates his versatility and dedication to his craft. With his talent and growing filmography, he is solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the South Korean entertainment industry.
