He has a personal connection to the sport of field hockey, having played it during his school days. This passion later influenced his directorial debut. He also previously worked as an assistant to director Thirukumaran for films like Maan Karate and Remo, and Gethu, gaining valuable experience in filmmaking.

Career Highlights

Parthiban Desingu made his directorial debut with the 2019 Tamil sports film, "Natpe Thunai." This film, starring Hiphop Tamizha, was based on the sport of field hockey and was described by Desingu as his "tribute to hockey." 

He also wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogue for the film. "Natpe Thunai" was well-received and became a box office success, even being remade in Telugu as "A1 Express." In an interview, he stated his desire to use cinema to project responsibilities and speak for issues, citing his connection to the struggles of fishers.

Beyond directing, Parthiban Desingu is also credited as a dialogue and screenplay writer for the upcoming Tamil action film "Padai Thalaivan" (2025), directed by U. Anbu. This shows his continued involvement in crafting narratives for Tamil cinema.
