Biography
An alumna of the FTII, Anwita Paul, who is better known by her stage name Patralekha, is an Indian actress who made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with CityLights. Born to a chartered accountant father and a homemaker mother, Patralekha hails from Shillong, Meghalaya, and has two siblings Parnalekha and Agnish Paul.
Although her father wanted her to study CA, just like him, Patralekha knew that acting was her calling and enrolled herself at FTII.
In 2010, she met a fellow FTII alumnus Rajkummar Rao on the sets of Love Sex Aur Dhokha. What started as a friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship in 2012, and the two have been together ever since.
She went on to make her acting debut in 2014 with Hansal Mehta's CityLights opposite Rajkummar Rao. Her performance in the movie won her the Screen Award for Best Female Debut.
Next, she was seen essaying the role of an edgy and adventurous Ramona Raichand in Vikram Bhatt's 2016 erotic thriller Love Games. Although the movie was panned by the critics, it went on to do well commercially.
The following year, in 2017, she was roped in to be a part of ALTBalaji's historical period drama web series called Bose: Dead/Alive, which is based on the life of Subhash Chandra Bose. Her 2018 project includes the horror comedy Nanu Ki Jaanu, which features Abhay Deol in the lead role opposite her.
