Paul Guilfoyle

Biography

Paul Guilfoyle was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Boston College High School, a Jesuit preparatory school, and later graduated from Lehigh University in 1972. Guilfoyle is a member of The Actors Studio and spent 12 years with the Theatre Company of Boston, where he honed his craft in various stage productions, including Broadway performances in The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel, Glengarry Glen Ross, and Richard III alongside Al Pacino.

Guilfoyle's screen career began in the mid-1970s, and he quickly established himself as a versatile character actor. He has appeared in numerous films, including:

On television, Guilfoyle is best known for his role as Captain Jim Brass on the CBS crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a role he played from 2000 to 2014. He returned for the series finale in 2015 and reprised his role in two episodes of the sequel series CSI: Vegas in 2021.

 

His other television credits include guest appearances on Miami Vice, Law & Order, Ally McBeal, and voice work on Justice League Unlimited.

 

Personal Life

In 1989, Guilfoyle married choreographer and aerial artist Lisa Giobbi. The couple has one child and resides in New York City.
