Paul Wernick
Biography
Canadian screenwriter and producer Paul Wernick is known primarily for the works he created in collaboration with fellow writer-producer Rhett Reese. The duo first rose to prominence courtesy of the immensely popular reality television hoax show The Joe Schmo Show (2003-13), which they created and co-wrote.
Subsequently, Wernick and Reese penned and bankrolled blockbusters like like Zombieland (2009) and Deadpool (2016), the latter of which won them the Empire Award for Best Screenplay in 2017.
Other significant writing credits include the military sci-fi action film G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), the sci-fi horror film Life (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), and Zombieland 2: Double Tap (2019).
