Penelope Ann Miller, born Penelope Andrea Miller on January 13, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, is an accomplished American actress known for her versatile performances in film, television, and theater. She is the daughter of actor and producer Mark Miller and costume designer Beatrice Ammidown. Miller pursued her passion for acting by studying theater at HB Studio in New York City.
Career:
Miller began her acting career on stage, making her Broadway debut in Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues" (1985), opposite Matthew Broderick. She reprised her role in the 1988 film adaptation. Her early film work includes roles in "Adventures in Babysitting" (1987) and "Big Top Pee-wee" (1988).
In the early 1990s, Miller gained prominence with performances in several notable films. She starred alongside Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick in "The Freshman" (1990), portrayed a teacher in "Kindergarten Cop" (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and appeared in "Awakenings" (1990) with Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
