P.G. Viswambharan
Biography
P. G. Viswambharan (1947–2010) was an Indian film director who predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. He was known for directing films across genres, including family dramas, romantic stories, comedies and social-themed films.
Viswambharan began his career in the Malayalam film industry in the 1970s and went on to direct numerous films over several decades. He worked with many leading actors of Malayalam cinema, including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Suresh Gopi and Madhu.
Some of his notable films include Sangham (1988), Nair Saab (1989), Midhunam (1993), Ayalathe Adheham (1992), Kusruthi Kaattu (1995) and Kinnam Katta Kallan (1996). His films often combined entertainment with themes involving family relationships and social situations.
P. G. Viswambharan was recognized for his ability to handle both commercial entertainers and emotionally driven stories. His career contributed significantly to Malayalam cinema during the 1980s and 1990s.
He died on 16 June 2010, leaving behind a substantial body of work in Malayalam cinema.
