Pranjal Dua is a Mumbai-based filmmaker and an alumnus of the Film & Television Institute of India (FTII). He has established a reputation in independent cinema, especially through short films and digital work that explore urban life, migration, and social realities.

 

 

Career Highlights

In 2014, Pranjal directed the short film Fly, Bird (also known as Chidiya Udh), which tells the story of a young boy from a chicken farm and a hotel maid whose lives intersect in a large city. The film won the Golden Lotus Award for Best Director – Non-Feature Film at the 61st National Film Awards.

 

He directed The Flamingos & Other Migratory Birds Tour (2023), depicting migrant life in Mumbai through poetic vignettes of displaced individuals.
