Prashanth Gunasekaran
Biography
Prashanth Gunasekaran, also known as Prashanth G. Sekar, is an Indian filmmaker and director based in Chennai. He began his career as an assistant director, working with filmmakers such as Hari on Singam II, Vignesh Shivan on Poda Podi, and Vikram Shreedharan at Tadka Films.
He made his feature-film directorial debut with the Tamil action thriller Yaanum Theeyavan (2017). The film marked his first major step as a director and showcased his interest in action-oriented storytelling.
Prashanth later moved into digital entertainment and directed his first web series, Postman, for ZEE5. The series follows a postman who wakes from a 23-year coma and sets out to deliver eight letters that he had failed to deliver decades earlier.
Through his work in Tamil cinema and streaming, Prashanth G. Sekar has developed a career spanning feature films, web series, and assistant-direction experience with established South Indian filmmakers.
