Rachel Brosnahan

Biography

Rachel Brosnahan is an American actress known for her work in film, television, and theatre. Born on July 12, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she studied acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and began her professional career while still young.

She gained early recognition with roles in House of Cards (2013–2015), where she played Rachel Posner, and Manhattan (2014–2015). Her film credits include Beautiful Creatures (2013), Louder Than Bombs (2015), The Finest Hours (2016), Patriots Day (2016), I'm Your Woman (2020), and Dead for a Dollar (2022).

Her breakthrough came with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), in which she portrayed Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950s housewife who pursues a career in stand-up comedy. Her performance earned her a Primetime Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and several other major honors.

In 2025, Brosnahan took on the iconic role of Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman, marking her entry into the DC Universe. She also appeared in the thriller The Amateur alongside Rami Malek.
