Rahmat Shah Zurmatai, born on July 6, 1993, in Zurmat, Paktia, Afghanistan, is a prominent cricketer known for his right-handed batting and occasional leg-break bowling.
Domestic Career
Rahmat has been a key player in Afghanistan's domestic cricket scene. He made his Twenty20 debut for Band-e-Amir Dragons in the 2017 Shpageeza Cricket League on September 12, 2017.
In July 2018, he emerged as the leading run-scorer for Mis Ainak Region in the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament, amassing 258 runs in five matches. Additionally, he was the leading wicket-taker for his team in the same tournament, with eight dismissals in five matches.
International Career
Rahmat made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Scotland on March 6, 2013.
He was among the eleven cricketers to play in Afghanistan's inaugural Test match against India in June 2018.
In September 2019, during the one-off Test between Afghanistan and Bangladesh, Rahmat etched his name in history by scoring Afghanistan's first Test century.
