Biography
Rajendra Gupta (born 17 October 1947) is a renowned Indian actor and director, celebrated for his work in film, television, and theatre. He is widely recognized for his memorable television roles, including Adina Beg Khan Sahib e Azam in the 2010 series Maharaja Ranjit Singh, Pandit Jagannath in the 1990s Doordarshan fantasy series Chandrakanta, and Jagat Narayan, Sudha’s father, in the Sony TV drama Saaya (1998–2001).
An alumnus of the National School of Drama (1972 batch), Gupta has appeared in numerous television serials and films over the decades. He portrayed the Mukhiya (village headman) of Champaner in the Oscar-nominated film Lagaan (2001) and played Kesri Narayan in the TV comedy series Chidiya Ghar on Sab TV.
He has also been part of the Hindi-Haryanvi big-budget film Rukke Padge alongside actor Gaurav Prateek. Currently, he is seen portraying Pandit Jagannath Mishra in the Sony TV show Jagannath Aur Purvi Ki Dosti Anokhi.
