He was born on September 10, 1964, in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India, and raised in Bangalore, Karnataka. A bright student with an early inclination towards the arts, Ramesh pursued a degree in mechanical engineering before dedicating himself fully to cinema.

 

 

Career

Ramesh Aravind began his acting journey in theatre and television before making his film debut in the late 1980s. His breakthrough came with Pushpaka Vimana (1987), a silent black comedy that received international acclaim and established him as a talented and versatile performer.

 

 

Over the years, Ramesh became one of the most respected actors in South Indian cinema, known for his expressive performances, charm, and ability to portray both comic and emotional roles with equal finesse. Some of his notable Kannada films include America! America! (1997), Hoomale (1998), Amrithadhare (2005), and Uttama Villain (2015) — where he also collaborated closely with the legendary Kamal Haasan.
