Biography
Ramesh Deo (30 January 1929 – 2 February 2022) was a distinguished Indian actor, director, producer, and television personality who worked primarily in Marathi and Hindi cinema. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he appeared in over 285 Hindi films, more than 190 Marathi films, and numerous television serials. Renowned for his versatility, he portrayed a wide range of roles, from sympathetic fathers and police officers to judges, doctors, and villains.
Early Life
Ramesh Deo was born on 30 January 1929 in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. He completed his education in Kolhapur before pursuing a career in acting.
Career
Ramesh Deo began his acting career in Marathi films in the 1950s and quickly established himself as one of the industry's leading actors. He later entered Hindi cinema, where he became a respected character actor and appeared in many successful films.
Throughout his career, he worked alongside some of the biggest names in Indian cinema, including Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Shashi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar, and Jeetendra.
In addition to acting, he directed and produced Marathi films and television programs, contributing significantly to the growth of regional cinema.
