Ramesh Saigal (1918 – 1980) was an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter who made significant contributions to Hindi cinema during the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Known for his socially relevant themes and engaging storytelling, he directed several acclaimed films that remain notable in the history of Indian cinema.

 

 

Saigal began his career in the film industry before establishing himself as a successful filmmaker. He gained recognition with films such as Shaheed, Samadhi, Railway Platform, Shikast, Phir Subah Hogi, and Raj Tilak. His films often explored patriotism, social justice, romance, and human relationships.

 

 

Throughout his career, Ramesh Saigal worked with many of Hindi cinema's leading actors, including Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Madhubala, and Nargis.
