Randy Newman is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, composer, and arranger known for his distinctive voice, clever songwriting, and memorable film music. Born on November 28, 1943, in Los Angeles, California, he grew up in a musical family. Several members of his family were involved in music, which influenced his interest in songwriting and composition from an early age.
Early Life and Musical Beginning
Newman began writing songs professionally as a teenager. By the age of 17, he was working as a songwriter for music publishing companies. His early songs attracted attention when they were recorded by other performers, helping him establish himself as a talented songwriter before he became widely known as a recording artist.
In 1968, Newman released his first album, Randy Newman, beginning his career as a singer and pianist. He followed it with albums such as 12 Songs, Sail Away, and Good Old Boys. His songwriting often combined humor, satire, storytelling, and emotional themes.
Music Career
