Ratheena PT
Biography
Ratheena PT is an Indian film director and producer who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. She began her film career in 2010 and worked in several areas of filmmaking, including assistant direction, production and executive production, before becoming a director.
Ratheena made her directorial debut with Puzhu (2022), a psychological drama starring Mammootty, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Appunni Sasi. The film explored themes of paranoia, family relationships, caste prejudice and social hierarchy.
Before directing Puzhu, she worked as an executive producer on Uyare (2019) and had also worked with filmmaker Revathi. Her work in Puzhu brought her considerable attention as a new voice in Malayalam cinema.
Her subsequent directorial project was Paathirathri (2025), starring Soubin Shahir and Navya Nair. The film was written by Shaji Maraad and marked Ratheena's second feature as a director.
Ratheena is particularly known for choosing socially relevant and psychologically intense stories, establishing herself as a notable contemporary filmmaker in Malayalam cinema.
