Ravikumar Menon (1 March 1954 – 4 April 2025) was a respected Indian actor who worked extensively in Malayalam and Tamil cinema, as well as television serials. With a career spanning several decades, he appeared in more than 100 South Indian films and was known for his versatility, effortless screen presence, and longevity in the industry.

 

 

Early Life and Background

Ravikumar was born in Thrissur district, Kerala. From a young age, he showed an interest in acting, which eventually led him to the Malayalam film industry. His early exposure to cinema and theatre helped shape his acting skills and prepared him for a long career on screen.

 

 

Film Career

Ravikumar made his debut as a leading actor with the Malayalam film Ullasa Yaathra in 1975. The film marked his entry into the industry and established him as a promising newcomer. During the late 1970s, he played several lead roles, gaining popularity for his youthful charm and natural acting style.
