Biography
Renu Desai was born in Pune, India, into a Gujarati–Marwari family and grew up speaking Marathi. As a child, she aspired to become a space scientist or neurosurgeon but eventually chose a career in the entertainment industry. She began her career as a model at the age of sixteen, which opened the doors to acting and filmmaking.
Acting Career
Renu made her acting debut in Telugu cinema with the 2000 film Badri, directed by Puri Jagannadh and starring opposite Pawan Kalyan. The movie was a commercial success and brought her recognition in the South Indian film industry. She later appeared in Johnny (2003), also opposite Pawan Kalyan. After a brief but memorable acting career, she gradually stepped away from on-screen roles.
Other Work in Cinema
Renu Desai explored various aspects of filmmaking beyond acting. She worked as a costume designer on several Telugu films, including Gudumba Shankar and Balu. Later, she turned producer and director in Marathi cinema.
