Richard Prasad
Biography
Richard Prasad hails from a family with a strong connection to the film industry. His father, Sri C. Madhav Rao, and mother, Smt. Subbalakshmi provided a supportive environment that nurtured his interest in visual storytelling. Richard pursued his education in Visual Communications, which encompassed journalism, photography, and painting, laying a solid foundation for his career in cinematography.
Career Journey
Richard Prasad began his professional journey in the film industry in the late 1980s. From 1986 to 1988, he worked as an assistant cameraman in Telugu feature films, gaining valuable experience. He continued his work as an associate cameraman in feature films from 1989 to 1993. His big break came with the film Pacha Thoranam, after which he worked on several successful projects, including Hanuman Junction, Athanokkade, Maryada Ramanna, Mirapakay, Yevadu, and Legend.
In 2013, Richard gained widespread recognition for his work on the film Swamy Ra Ra, directed by Sudheer Varma. He continued to deliver notable cinematography in films such as Kotha Janta (2014), Babu Bangaram (2016), and Dohchay (2015).
