Riyas Marath
Biography
Riyas Marath is an Indian screenwriter and film director who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. He began his career as a writer, contributing to films such as Neeli (2018) and Diwanji Moola Grand Prix (2018). In Neeli, he received a writing credit, while he was credited with the dialogues for Diwanji Moola Grand Prix.
Marath made his directorial debut with Anomie: The Equation of Death (2026), a Malayalam crime thriller starring Bhavana, Rahman, Shebin Benson, Vishnu Agasthya and Binu Pappu. He wrote and directed the film, which follows a sister seeking answers after her brother's death while a police investigation unfolds alongside her own search for the truth.
His earlier writing experience on Neeli and Diwanji Moola Grand Prix helped establish him as a screenwriter before he moved into direction. Anomie marked an important step in his career, showcasing his interest in investigative and suspense-driven storytelling.
