Rogier Stoffers

Biography

Beginning his career in the film industry under the watchful eye of director Mike van Diem, Rogier Stoffers is a Dutch cinematographer, who worked on van Diem`s Character (1997). The movie won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Stoffers began his career with the TV drama series, Called to the Bar (1993-1995). 

 

He has worked on TV shows like Sjans (1992-1993), Tijd van Leven (1996), In Naam der Koningin (1996), and Ten X Ten (2014). Stoffers has also worked on movies like Papa`s Song (2000), Quills (2000), John Q (2002), School of Rock (2003), Bad News Bears (2005), Disturbia (2007), Mongol: The Rise to Power of Genghis Khan (2007), The Secret Life of Bees (2008), No Strings Attached (2011), What If (2013), The Surprise (2015) and The Disappointments Room (2016). 

 

Stoffers was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie- Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012). The HBO biopic about renowned writer Ernest Hemingway and his wife, World War II correspondent, Martha Gellhorn, won rave reviews.

Stoffers began 2018 serving as the cinematographer on director Michael Sucsythe`s fantasy-romance movie, Every Day. He also worked with director Eli Roth on Death Wish and The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Both the movies are based on book adaptations of the same name. His 2019 release includes A Dog Journey, directed by Gail Mancuso.
