Biography

Ronald Zehrfeld, born on January 15, 1977, in East Berlin, East Germany, is a distinguished German actor known for his compelling performances in both film and television.   

Zehrfeld pursued acting studies at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. Following his graduation, he began his professional career on stage, showcasing his talent in various theater productions.   

His breakthrough into film and television came in the early 2000s, and he quickly established himself as a versatile actor capable of portraying complex and nuanced characters. He gained significant recognition for his role in the critically acclaimed television series "Im Angesicht des Verbrechens" (In the Face of Crime, 2010), which earned him widespread praise and awards.   

Zehrfeld has since appeared in numerous notable films, including "Barbara" (2012), which won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin International Film Festival, and "Der Staat gegen Fritz Bauer" (The People vs. Fritz Bauer, 2015), where he delivered a powerful performance as the determined prosecutor. He has also been featured in international productions and continues to be a prominent figure in German cinema.

More recently, Zehrfeld played the role of Thusnelda's father, Segimer, in the Netflix series "Barbarians" (2020-2022). His portrayal of the wise and conflicted tribal leader added depth to the historical drama and further showcased his acting prowess to a global audience.
