Sachin Darekkar
Biography
Sachin Darekar, born on 30 May 1979, completed his schooling at Chogle High School and Patkar College, Goregaon, before earning a diploma in computer engineering from Muchhala Polytechnic.
He began his career in 1996 with experimental theatre, which eventually led to a passion for scriptwriting. Over the years, Sachin has written more than 7,000 television episodes and 12 successful feature films, establishing himself as one of Marathi entertainment’s most prolific writers.
Sachin made his directorial debut with the Marathi feature film Party (2018) and later directed the web series Ek Thi Begum (2020) for MX Player.
As a writer, he has contributed to numerous acclaimed TV serials, handling story, screenplay, and dialogue for shows such as Jagavegali, Kalat Nakalat, Adhuri Ek Kahani, Durva, Lagori, Saheb Biwi Aani Mee, Kundali, Comedy Express, Jodi No.1, Mangalsutra, and many others, leaving a significant mark on Marathi television storytelling.
