Yardi began his career in the film industry as a screenwriter. He penned the scripts for Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005), an adult comedy that gained popularity for its bold humor, and Traffic Signal (2007), a social drama directed by Madhur Bhandarkar that won the National Film Award for Best Director.
