Biography

Sachin Yardi is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his work in Hindi cinema. Born on January 1, 1970, he has made significant contributions to the industry, both as a writer and as a director.

Early Career and Writing Credits

Yardi began his career in the film industry as a screenwriter. He penned the scripts for Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005), an adult comedy that gained popularity for its bold humor, and Traffic Signal (2007), a social drama directed by Madhur Bhandarkar that won the National Film Award for Best Director. His writing in these films showcased his versatility and ability to handle different genres.

Directorial Debut: C Kkompany (2008)

In 2008, Yardi made his directorial debut with C Kkompany, a comedy film starring Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Anupam Kher, and Mithun Chakraborty. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor, follows the story of three friends who form a fake extortion gang to solve their financial problems. Despite its unique plot, the film received negative reviews and was a commercial failure at the box office. 

Continued Success: Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum (2012)

Yardi's next project was the sequel Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum (2012), which continued the adult comedy theme. The film starred Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh and was produced by Ekta Kapoor. While the film received mixed reviews, it performed better at the box office compared to its predecessor. 

Netflix Venture: Chopsticks (2019)

In 2019, Yardi directed Chopsticks, a Netflix original film starring Mithila Palkar and Abhay Deol. The film, a comedy-drama, explores the story of a woman who teams up with a conman to retrieve her stolen car. Chopsticks received positive reviews for its fresh storyline and performances, marking a successful venture into digital streaming platforms.
