Biography
Sai Abhyankkar was born on November 4, 2004, in Virugambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He is the son of renowned playback singers Tippu and Harini, and his sister Sai Smriti is also a singer. Growing up in a musical household, Sai developed a deep passion for music from a young age. He trained in multiple instruments, including piano, tabla, mridangam, drums, and guitar, along with formal vocal training.
Rise through Independent Music
Sai first gained attention through his independent music releases. His breakout single “Katchi Sera” (2024) became a massive hit, going viral across social media and streaming platforms. Following this success, he released several popular tracks such as “Aasa Kooda”, “Sithira Puthiri”, and “Vizhi Veekura”, each highlighting his unique blend of melody and modern production.
Entry into Film Music
Even before his first film soundtrack release, Sai had already signed multiple movie projects. He made headlines for being chosen as the music director for Suriya45, replacing A. R. Rahman. He also composed for Benz, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, and made his Malayalam cinema debut with Balti, starring Shane Nigam.
Remarkably, by the age of 20, Sai had signed around eight feature films, an impressive achievement for such a young composer.
