Biography

Saikumar is a prominent Indian actor who works primarily in Malayalam cinema. Born on 14 April 1963, he is the son of veteran Malayalam actor Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair and comes from a well-known family of performers.

 

He began his acting career as a child artist in Vidarunna Mottukal (1977) and later worked in theatre before making his breakthrough as a lead actor in Siddique–Lal's Ramji Rao Speaking (1989). Although he initially became known for comedy and leading roles, he gradually established himself as a versatile character actor.

 

Saikumar has played a wide range of characters, including heroes, supporting characters, and antagonists. His performance as Vasu in Kunjikkoonan was particularly noted, while his work in Anandabhairavi (2007) earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor.

Some of his notable films include Ramji Rao Speaking, Chakkara Muthu, Rajamanikyam, Anandabhairavi, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Lucifer, Drishyam 2, Kaduva, Varaal and Sethurama Iyer CBI. IMDb lists him with more than 300 acting credits, reflecting his long and prolific career in Malayalam cinema.
